PrEP Online

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the process for getting PrEP?

Once you register as an online PrEP patient our PrEP coordinator will prepare a custom testing kit based on your responses in your registration. They will send you that kit though the mail. Once you recieve it there will be insttructions how to complete the testing and send it back. Once we recieve the results and the  provider has completed your visit they will send a prescription to the pharmacy for PrEP.

  • Do I have the virtual visit first or lab first?

Actually, the order doesn't matter. While we are waiting for the lab results to get back we can go ahead and get your virtual visit completed. Then when we get your lab results back we can get you treated. Both have to be done though before we can prescribe treatment/PrEP.

  • Who covers the cost of PrEP

Most commonly we will bill your insurance for the visit and the laboratory testing. They will get two bills. One from the office and one from the lab. We take most insurances including Medicaid. If you don't have insurance we can help with that. Based on the responses on your registration form, one of our billing specialists may reach out to you to assist in getting insurance to cover the cost of PrEP and healthcare needs. We also have a low cost plan that allows for you to pay cash for your visits anywhere from $100 - $225 depending on the testing.

The cost of the medication is covered by insurance or patient assistance and co-pay programs where you should not have to pay for the medication itself.
